personality:
James loves the ladies and flirting to no end is one of his specialties. Being the kind of guy who doesn’t go for the relationship scene, he flirts with almost any girl he deems to be worthy. If you’re hot, then you will probably manage to get James’s attention. You can always tell if he’s being flirty or friendly with him, judging by the way he smiles. His flirty smile has a smug smirk behind it, while a friendly smile is simply just a smile.
You must be one lucky dude/dudette to be acquainted with James because he’s one crazy cat. He loves to go wild with his friends; randomly shouting statements at people he doesn’t know and pulling pranks at Walmart are his favorites. He’ll do just about anything to have fun, whether it be toilet papering someone’s house, to sliding down on his stomach on a bowling lane. Both of which he’s done before. Hang out with James and get ready for a crazy time.
So this particular trait can be a good thing and a bad thing really. In this case, it might be more on the bad side, but that’s okay. The word “brutally” should probably go before “honest” because that’s what James is. He doesn’t really take other people’s feelings in consideration when he says things like “yes you do look horrible today”. Oh and don’t even bother asking if those jeans make your butt look big, especially if you’re looking for a no as an answer. But his honesty can sometimes be helpful in other situations, it really just depends on the person he’s with and the mood he’s in.
When around his very close friends, James can be a really goofy guy. He loves laughing and making other people laugh with him. His jokes are never really funny, but his execution gives him a 10 on the hilarious scale. His facial expressions are usually what get people. He has a whole lot of different faces that he makes, sometimes subconsciously and other times he’ll do them on purpose. Either way, James is a really hilarious guy who often doesn’t like taking things too seriously.
James knows that he’s good looking. You can tell just by the way he carries himself. That being said, he can be very shallow. He has a tendency to treat people who aren’t so good looking like shit. He’ll often ignore ugly people or just flat out tell them to get out of his face. This gives some people the impression that James is a total jack ass, which can be true in some situations but he at least tries to keep his rude comments to himself.
Sometimes when someone meets a person, they get a feeling determining whether they’ll like that person or not. Well if James gets the feeling that he’s not going to like you, or if you make a bad first impression with him, he’s done with you. Out pokes his horns and he can be the meanest person in the world to you. If you say something that annoys him he’ll gladly tell you to shut up, or just walk away while you’re in the middle of a sentence. He really doesn’t like it when people annoy him, so I suggest you don’t do it. So what annoys James: People who walk so close to him that they constantly bump his arm, people who whine too much, and wimps, if you are/do any of the following upon meeting him then he’ll drop you like a hot potato.
James knows how to party. He loves to go out to the club and tries to at least three times a week. Sometimes he’ll get completely drunk off his ass and others he’ll just have a couple drinks just to give him a little buzz. But that’s pretty much all he needs because he doesn’t drink that often. Whenever there’s alcohol in his system, he’s more likely to hook up. Usually when he’s sober he doesn’t date around that much and tries to stick with one person for a while instead of having some time limit on how long he should date them. But when he’s wasted or there’s alcohol in his system, he gets more and more sexual and usually ends up in someone’s bed.
Once James befriends someone and they form a close bond, he can become very protective. He's mostly protective of his lady friends more than his guy friends because they can easily stick up for themselves. But if one of his lady friends is having boy "drama" James will gladly step in. This is ironic too because, James is usually involved in some kind of drama himself, do to his no commitment policy. Call him a hypocrite if you want, but no one messes with his friends.
flirty, fun-loving, brutally honest/blunt, goofy, shallow, easily annoyed, protective, jack ass, reserved when it comes to his past, kick ass
now, now darling oh don't lose your head ,,
hometown: Virginia Beach, Virginia
history:
Ever since James was a small child, he hasn't been good enough for his father, Dave. No matter what James tried, his father was never satisfied. Sometimes James felt like his father was ashamed of his own son. His mother was--social; so he rarely ever saw her; this lead to James running away from home when he was about ten years old. But since he was so young, he didn't get too far and was soon taken back to his home to live with his father. Dave owned his own string of hotels, so James appeared to have a lucky life. Well like so many people say, you should never judge a book by its cover. James’ life was far from glamorous. Sure he lived in a large house, but his father was far from loving towards him.
To pass the time, James would often go swimming in the pool that was built in their backyard. It kept his mind off of his uncaring father and his, pretty much non-existing, mother. Back then he didn't have many friends, which explains why they're so dear to him now, so he spent most of his time in the pool alone. James's father had managed to hide the fact that he was an alcoholic for a few years until one stormy night.
His father had been drunk; a different side of James's father that he had never seen before, and began to get the lecture on how he'd never make anything of his life, would always be alone, and no one would ever care for him. By this time, James was 14 and perfectly capable to build up his courage and charge at his father, the anger from the past fourteen years releasing itself into one fierce punch. Though, James had underestimated his father in the drunken state that he was, and the punch was easily dodged.
Soon, James's arm was in the grasp of his father. James was dragged through the sliding screen door and out into the backyard. James struggled to get away from his father, kicking and screaming to do whatever he could to release himself from his father's grasp, but was soon silenced by a large flow of water that made its way into James's nose and mouth. The water forced itself down James's throat; every now and then his head would be yanked from the water to get some air, but immediately pushed back into the water.
After James's father got bored of these harsh actions, his foot hit hard against James's side, sending him into the water. By this time, the storm had gotten a lot worse than it was before. Lightning streaked the sky, thunder roared, the wind had picked up, and rain poured from the sky. James slowly sunk to the bottom of the pool. Willing himself to open his eyes, James pulled himself to the surface and doggy paddled towards the stairs leading to the safe, hard ground. There by the pool James stayed until morning.
Too many times this happened to James. But as he got older, the stronger he got and eventually he was able to stand up for himself. James vowed to move out as soon as he was of legal age. And that’s exactly what he did. James moved out at age 18. He was left with quite a lot of money from his rich, abusive father and though they still lived in Virginia Beach, James took the money and bought himself a house on the other side of the place. He couldn’t leave Virginia Beach; it was too great of a place and not to mention he’d lose all the friendships and what not he’s made over the years. He took up boxing lessons, just to sharpen his fighting skill in case his father decided to try anything else. James doubted he would, but it was never bad to be too careful. Four years James took those boxing lessons and he’s now very well trained. Now being twenty-two years old, James is a different person from his childhood. He’s tougher, and sort of an ass hole, but that’s probably his father’s doing. But he’s much more open and just waiting for the old man to croak so he can inherit the business.

your name/alias: Erica
your age: 16
roleplay experience: oooh, probably about four years.
read the rules: loose lips sink ships
roleplay sample:It was sometimes fun for James to think about what kind of guy he would be if he didn’t party as much. If he’d had strict parents who actually kept him home to study instead of just waiting for his inheritance. James would definitely be a nicer person overall, what with all the discipline he would have. But then again, the bad side of having strict parents was that he’d probably always have his face dug into a book of some sort. Oh he’d probably wear suspenders too. He didn’t know why but whenever he thought of a bookworm, suspenders always came to mind. And not to mention, James would be one boring person without the life he has now. No parties meant no social life for James, and that would be no good. For James, having a social life was everything that made his life so good; besides the wealth and the nice things. He’d be nothing without the parties and social gatherings. That was basically how he made most of his friends. In fact, if he could remember correctly, that was how he met Blake. It was good they did meet because there was something weird about Blake.
No, not a bad weird. There was just something that drew James to her. Something that was different than other girls. She possessed something, but James couldn’t quite put his finger on it. But instead of letting it irk him and throw him off of his game, he just let it drift off into the back of his mind. He’d try not to think anything of it. It’s not like they were dating or anything, so there was no point in letting it get to him. They were only friends, with the occasional drunken make out. But of course, both of them knew that those didn’t mean anything. At least, it wasn’t supposed to mean anything. Most of the time it didn’t mean anything to James, but when James was more sober than drunk, he actually enjoyed their “romantic” moments together on a different kind of level. It even freaked him out a bit, which only caused him to drink more whenever it happened. That always seemed to help him forget about the weird feeling in the pit of his stomach he got when they kissed.
When James received Blake’s next text message, he smirked. Well then, that’s what she thought, eh? He chuckled lightly to himself, the cab driver giving him a weird look. James simply ignored it. He was only jealous that James was sharing an interesting conversation with a hot girl and he was stuck driving a cab around the city all night. Not to mention he probably got lousy tips. James would save his reply to her text for when they were finally face to face. He was sure she’d get a laugh out of his reaction to her bull shit statement about him. The fact that she was joking was known to James though, so he wasn’t insulted in the least. Plus, it was very hard to insult James anyway, what with his jumbo sized ego and everything. Even if he did insult easily, he wouldn’t be sine he was so close to Blake. Besides, James didn’t spend that much time in the mirror really. Only when he was getting ready to go out somewhere would he look in the mirror and actually evaluate what he was wearing or how he looked. But then again…James does go out a lot. Well that doesn’t really mean anything. Like I said before, James was no pretty boy. He didn’t stare himself down in a mirror 24/7.
It was a few minutes later that James was standing in front of Blake, receiving a friendly kiss on the cheek. He smiled and lead her to the bar. After flagging down the bartender, and avoiding a few puddles of alcohol on the counter, James ordered a vodka tonic for himself. What’ll you have? he questioned. He then turned to Blake as she began to speak again. James shrugged casually when she commented him. Yeah well, since I apparently spend so much time in the mirror… he said accusingly, his mouth turning down into a frown. First you say I’m a girl and now you’re calling me a pretty boy. What’s next? I don’t think I’ll be buying you that drink now, he teased, unable to hold the frown he had worked so hard to get. James looked her up and down slightly, offering a smirk of approval. Even though you called me a pretty boy, you look pretty hot yourself babe, he complimented. Finally, their drinks arrived and James immediately took the glass of vodka into his hand. He lifted the glass to his lips and let the strong alcohol flow down his throat, the familiar burning of the liquid satisfying to his taste buds.
The half empty glass was set back down on the counter as Blake mentioned she hadn’t been out in a long time. Well jeez, maybe I shouldn’t have invited such a nerd tonight, he teased, smirking lightly. If James went months without going out to the club or a party, he’d probably die of boredom. There was really nothing else he could do with his days except for study. But that was never fun and there was no way he’d meet any hot girls cooped up in his room studying. James pretended to put some serious thought into her question. He knew immediately though, that he would definitely dance with her tonight. He just wanted to have some suspense leading up to his answer. He even added that “iffy” kind of facial expression, hinting that his answer was leaning towards a no. I don’t know…I’m not much of a dancer, he lied, lifting a brow before offering a light smirk. God, he was just so bad at lying. James smiled slightly. Okay, okay. I promise. And maybe if you’re lucky, I’ll dance with you more than once, he said, winking playfully. James chuckled lightly at the next promise she wanted him to keep. He remembered a time when she got that drunk. James could hold his liquor pretty well, so he wasn’t completely wasted. It was funny watching Blake stumble to the cab though. That won’t be happening. If anyone so much as looks at you weird, I’ll greet them with my fist, he said, half joking and half serious. He could be extremely protective, especially with really close friends such as Blake.
