Boy oh boy was this Saturday being nice to Stevie Annmarie Christensen. One of those beautiful days where she got to spend those twenty-four hours doing whatever the hell she pleased had finally come in her direction and boy was she grasping on to every single minute of it. The way she spent that day that was just to herself wasn't the way someone else would usually spend it, though. Because while another person found a day off to mean laying around the house all day watching old movies and eating endless snacks, Stevie had been working on her latest painting from twelve in the afternoon until five and time hadn't gone by slowly at all. Actually, it had managed to fly by incredibly fast, because once those brilliant blue eyes of hers came across the clock across her large room, they ended up going wide in surprise. The one thing that could always get this twenty year old in a good mood was working on her art. It was the one thing in Stevie's life that she felt really, truly passionate about. Every time that she had that pencil in hand ready to sketch or that paintbrush, ready to paint she felt like she was at home. It was the perfect way for her to completely unleash, to forget about the world, to relax, to enjoy herself, to let time float on by carelessly. It was just all around the number one way she would want to spend her day. Ever since she was just two years old and her father put some crayons in her hand she knew that that was what she loved to do. It didn't matter what form she got that picture on the paper, she suddenly constantly felt the need to do just that. The more that Stevie grew up, the more she realized that this was exactly what she wanted to do with her life. That her art was exactly how she wanted to go forward and get somewhere.
When Stevie had realized just how long she had been sitting in that same position though, she stretched out her legs in front of her letting out a small gasp from how uncomfortable the movement actually was. Dropping her paintbrush into a cup of water, she came to terms with just how numb her legs were and had to sit there for a few minutes to gain the feeling back and then finally brought herself back up from the ground. Walking over to her bed just a few feet away, she grabbed her phone which she had set on vibrate hours earlier so that it wouldn't bother her. As Stevie's eyes glanced down on it, a grin tugged at the corners of her lips when she realized that she had several new text messages, all from her best friend, Carter. One after the other, Carter was telling her to hurry up and respond, to call her back and that they definately had to hit up the huge party that an unfamiliar face was throwing but everyone was going to be there. Immediately, Stevie's fingers came across the small keyboard of her phone and she texted back Carter with a short and sweet message, telling her it was a definate go. Whenever it came to a party, no matter who was throwing it or where it was, Stevie was going to be there and that was a fact. It was actually how she had met so many of the people that she knew that day. Stevie had always been known to be that social butterfly going around talking to every familiar and new face that she could find. She was anything but shy and always found such entertainment in getting to know new people. Not to mention the fact that going to a party with Carter was something she would never in a million years pass up. The two girls were completely and utterly insane together, it was actually one hell of a sight.
For the next thirty minutes, Stevie spent her time cleaning off her brushes and putting everything back into it's proper place, making sure to not leave any kind of mess behind and putting her nearly finished painting over to the side where nothing would get in its way. Organizing all of her things when it came to her art was something she obviously spent a lot of time doing. Stevie never wanted to take any kind of chance at screwing stuff up because she was being too lazy or too clumsy. Soon after she cleaned up, she slipped into the shower for another twenty minutes and the journey to prepare herself for what was said was going to be a fabulous party began right then and there. Her getting ready consisted of a shower, going downstairs to get a bite to eat (meanwhile ignoring her sister, since they were so good at doing just that), watching a bit of television as she did so (and losing track of time), then going back upstairs to brush her teeth, apply just a little bit of make-up and slip into something less comfortable. Since Stevie had taken her time with her eating and watching a bit of television, by this point it was already eight o'clock and Carter was swinging by to pick her up at any time. Standing in front of the mirror looking a hell of a lot better than she did just a little while ago plopped down in front of that canvas, a smirk came across Stevie's lips. Yes, it was certainly going to be one hell of a night. Before she could even think much further, the doorbell downstairs could be heard throughout the house and Stevie slipped into her black and white flats and waltzed down the stairs rapidly, showing up at the front door in just a matter of seconds. "Stevie, I just wanna rape you right now." Were the first words to slip through the other girls lips and laughter suddenly filled the air around them.
The chatter in the car was constant as they drove their way to the address that Carter had been told the party was located. It was anything but abnormal for these two girls to never have a hint of silence between the two. It was just how their friendship worked and Stevie honestly wouldn't have had it any other way. Pulling up at the large house, it was obvious that was exactly where this big bash was located. The music was blaring through the walls and cars were parked all down the road. In just a matter of minutes, Stevie and Carter were at the front door, turning the knob and allowing themselves inside to be mixed in with the crowds of people that were there. Thirty minutes into the party of dancing with a few random guys and having a good time with Carter, Stevie decided it was time to go get herself a second beer. "Hey, babe. Want me to get you anything?" Stevie asked her friend through the music, with a shake of the other girls head, Stevie turned her back and headed on over to the medium-sized kitchen that was almost empty except for those few people hanging around the several coolers laid out, trying to get something to drink. Stevie squeezed her way on through, her back towards the strangers as she leaned down and grasped a cold bottle of beer in her right hand.
